Sun Jan 18th

Late again. I promise I'll make up for it.

We took Hali to the Dog Park on Sunday. She loves it there. She wasn't as socialized as we would have liked her to be when she was a pup, so she some times has a hard time fitting in there. She sometimes starts fights with Pit Bulls and Bull Terriers. She doesn't really mean too, she just gets nervous and nippy when there are a lot of dogs around. She's getting better though.

Sun!!!

What a beautiful day today! The sun was shining, the snow was melting. It was actually above zero! I kinda felt bad about closing the curtains, but if I can't see my monitors it takes me a lot longer to do things, and the longer work takes, the less time I can spend in the sun. Even shoveling the driveway felt good today!

Big Sky Country

Before we left, a few people said that the prairies was "Big Sky Country." I can see why.

Red Deer isn't as bad as some of the places I've seen in Alberta, but at times it seems pretty damn flat.

This is the field I try to take Hali to at lunch when it's not too cold. It's a pretty good idea, every neighbourhood (sp?) has at least one of these little parks, usually with a playground, soccer field, and/or basketball court.

They just put up a sign saying that this one could eventually be a catholic school.

Snow!

Geez, this is harder than I thought. I don't really do much.

It snowed all last night and today. Hali really likes the snow so I always shovel all the snow from the back patio in one spot to give her a good pile to play in.

Surprise!

So I didn't post yesterday, but I have an excuse; Robin's co-workers had a surprise wedding shower/party! At our house even! The theme was wine and music. You can see all the CD's here (along with a few other things), but the wine is gone. Well, most of it anyway.

It was amazing, and totally unexpected.

Blast from the Past

My CD came today! When I was in high school my friends and I played the first 3 tracks from this CD (I guess it was tape back then) every time we jammed. I wonder what happened to these guys.

Last Minute

My guitar, I really miss her. I haven't strummed more than a few chords in the last few years. Someone wound some yarn around the headstock when I was in high school. I liked it so I left it there. Geez, that yarn is over 13 years old.

Cottage Cheese

I tried cottage cheese with blueberries today for a snack. It may look disgusting, but it tasted . . . disgusting. Is there actually a use for this stuff?

Caffeine

This is going to be harder than I thought. I really don't do anything besides work right now.

This is the paperless paper cup my fiancee got me for Xmas.

Caffeine is one of the most important tools in this job. I have to get off it once in a while so it'll work when I need it. Right now I'm up to about 3 or 4 cups of coffee/tea a day. I think it's reaching the end of it's effectiveness.

Evergreen

It finally warmed up enough to take the dog to the park today. It felt fantastic to get outside!

Freelancer

Working from home has been the hardest thing I have done in my entire career.

I went to Burger King for lunch today.

I went to Burger King for lunch today. I think it's weird that I crave bad food when I feel down. It really only makes it worse.
